There is a difference between simple hair nutrition vitamins vs. standardized nutraceuticals like Nutrafol. Not all products are created equal. Nutrafol's Hair Growth Nutraceuticals include ingredients that are standardized to provide consistent potency in every serving, concentrated to specific clinically effective servings, bioavailable for absorption and efficacy in the body and responsibly sourced for exceptional quality.
Nutrafol determines effective serving sizes for our dietary supplements by conducting rigorous research to fully understand how each ingredient contributes to addressing key root causes of hair thinning targeted by the product. Nutrafol Hair Growth Nutraceuticals also undergo clinical testing to evaluate the efficacy of the formulation as a whole, adding further rigor to the research behind each of our formulations.
Ingredient amounts for Nutrafol supplement products are determined by rigorous research at the ingredient level to select serving sizes that appropriately address key root causes of hair thinning. Some nutrients are included in our products above 100% Daily Value since we utilize research specific to addressing root causes—this is slightly different than if we look at recommended daily values to maintain health, as put out by the U.S. FDA. Additionally, each formula undergoes a safety assessment based on lifetime use of the product.
A clinical study, clinical trial, or clinical research study is an investigation conducted to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and/or product-related adverse reactions of a product, therapy, device, or diagnostic test. Nutrafol conducts clinical studies to show the effectiveness of our final product formulations, something that is not required in the dietary supplement industry. As experts in hair biology and key root causes that affect hair health, Nutrafol shares our clinical study results with the scientific community through peer-reviewed publications and presents our findings at prominent dermatological and medical conferences.
Although the FDA does not require clinical studies for dietary supplements, Nutrafol prioritizes and invests in clinical studies so that we can put our products to the test in real people.
All clinical studies on Nutrafol products are conducted by independent clinical research centers, approved by an institutional review board, and in compliance with Good Clinical Practice. Furthermore, disclosures for all authors are always clearly stated in all publications, ensuring full transparency and ethical responsibility.
Our studies are statistically powered to have a sufficient number of subjects to be able to detect a significant difference based on the preset endpoints used by researchers and dermatologists. Moreover, we have multiple clinical studies published on our Women’s Hair Growth Supplement, as well as completed, published, and/or ongoing studies on all of our other Hair Growth Nutraceuticals.
